2012 Election: All You Need To Know Thus Far
The average age of the Iowa caucus voter was 66 years old. Average age of New Hampshire, South Carolina, and Florida primaries were 63, 64, and 66. The same generation that has driven our economy, education system, and healthcare system into the toilet bowl is still picking our candidates.
The same government in power that looks down on dominating companies in uncompetitive markets continues maintain a plurality wins in single member district system that creates a bi-polar two party system (Duverger’s Law).
All the while, they gerrymander districts to the point where your vote doesn’t matter and suppress voter turnout by the poor and young by not making it a national holiday (harder for hourly wage people to vote than salaried/retired, harder for out of voting district college kids, etc.).
The sooner young people realize it, the sooner young Americans will revolt like the youth of all other countries because we’re being ruled by selfish idiots who blew their retirements on bad real estate investments, got pensions they didn’t earn (looking at you California), got suckered into Ponzi schemes, overpaid CEO’s, and are so significantly fatter than the generation before them that they physically crushed our healthcare system.
